Flood Damage

This was once a tall security fence around a put-put course down the hill from my house.  It is amazing what a normally small creek can do when you get an unexpected amount of rain very quickly.

**click on the photos to see them better...if you look into the horizon on the third photo you can see the glimmer of water where a golf driving range once stood.**

Oh no! A few years back, our area was flooded and is still in recovery. My husband is a county supervisor, and is still dealing with FEMA. I love the rain, but too much is not a good thing! Great photos though {to look on the bright side!}

Wow. Floods are terrifying. I'll never forget standing by my patio door in our old apartment, watching the water from the creek out back come within six inches of my feet, knowing there was NOTHING I could do to prevent it from coming all the way in. Six months after we moved out of the that apartment, we heard that all the first-floor apartments in that complex got completely flooded in one storm. We were so glad we got out of there when we did!

Thanks for stopping by and linking your WW post up over at my place. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to come over to your place. I'm still slowly making my way through the 70+ blogs who linked up. Thanks again. Have a great day.
